SUNDAY, February 17
4.00 p.m.Opening Celebrations at the Holetown Monument with Dancin’ Africa, Chrystal
Cummins-Beckles, Raphael Saul, St. James Parish Ambassadors, the Queen of the Festival Amia Weekes and
the contestants for 2008, The Barbados Community College Orchestra, presentation of awards. Blessing
by Rt. Rev. Bishop Rufus Broome and Feature Address.
5.30 p.m. The Ceremony of Beating Retreat by the Zouave Band of the Barbados Defence Force.

6.00 p.m. – 12.00 midnight The Holetown Liming Tent opens, featuring Traces Steel Band from Canada, Reddy Panners Steel Band,
with Karaoke and prizes
7.30 p.m. The Festival Gospel Concert “Night of Destinee” at the Holetown Methodist Church…Admission $10.00

10.00 a.m. The Alfred Pragnell Memorial Talk "The development of Calypso" by Mrs. Kean Springer at the
Holetown Methodist Church.
